What
will my Web site address be?
We will register
the name of your choice for the site. Most agents select their last name
or a combination of first and last names... 'www.TomJones.com'. Many names
may already be taken by other Web sites, but we will help you find a name
that works for you. Some agents select a name unrelated to their personal
names such as 'www.bestagent.com'.
Who
owns the Domain Name?
You.
We register the name directly with GoDaddy who manages all
our Web site Domain Names.
How
long does it take to get my site on-line once I order?
Within 2
weeks. It is important that we have complete information from you to meet
our deadline.
What
happens if I want to move my Domain Name to another service provider?
You are the
owner of the name and can do with it as you wish. You could use the site
for a different business or move the name to a different service provider.
However, the Web site design remains sole property of Site for Less.
How
do I make changes to the Web site?
You
can make immediate changes 24 hours a day directly through
ONLINE EDITOR using your personal password. ONLINE EDITOR
enables you to go on-line and modify most everything in your
Web site. You do not need any computer expertise to make changes.
The ONLINE EDITOR feature is written in plain English. If
you elect to not use ONLINE EDITOR, Site for less will make
changes for you free of charge*!
* You need to have subscribed to one of our All-inclusive
package.
Once
the site is up, how will people find me?
Potential
clients will find you on the Internet two ways:

For a limited additional fee of $95 we submit your Web site
once on the leading search engines.

You should offer to other websites to place their Web addresses on one
of your pages and ask for reciprocity. Lots of synergy can be made with

We do not charge a monthly hosting fee. Everything is included for one

What
type of computer do I need?
You do not
need a computer to own a Web site, however, Site for Less strongly recommends
that everyone use a personal computer.
If you are
thinking about purchasing a personal computer we recommend the following
specifications:

or notebook computer (we strongly suggest a brand name with a good warranty)

is Site for Less?
Think of
Site for Less as an online Web site building tool. Each Web site design
available has been crafted specifically to meet the needs of image-conscious
small business owners. Our Web site designs enable any business to own
a professional quality Web site without the costs associated with hiring
a professional Web site design firm (can go up to $10,000) or the time
necessary to create it in-house (time consuming and technical knowledge
necessary).
Do
I get E-mail with my Web site?
Yes. You
get 10 matching E-mail aliases. That should be enough for any small business
use. Each employee should have its own E-mail. All e-mail boxes are configured
through Website Manager. Contact us by phone or E-mail support@siteforless.com
if you have questions.
Why
would I need 10 email addresses or more?
At Site For
Less we offer you 10 different email aliases for your company's use. They
will match your new domain name and can be used by different people. For
example, each person in the company can have his own email address (john@smithinsurance.com,
or sales@smithinsurance.com). Up to ten different ones included in the
Basic Package!
How
do I choose or change my email addresses?
In your Online
Editor you have the option to create, modify or delete any of your email
addresses. Hit submit button and our technical staff will operate the
change within 24 hours.
What
is a Web Address (domain name)?
Practically
speaking, your Web Address is the core of your Internet identity, your
online brand. Your customers will remember this name and use it to find
your Web site, your products or your services. And since no two parties
can ever hold the same Web Address simultaneously, your Internet identity
is totally unique.
Technically,
a Web Address is an addressing construct used for identifying and locating
computers on the Internet. While computers use Internet Protocol (IP)
numbers to locate each other on the Internet, people find them hard to
remember. Therefore, Web Addresses were developed to permit the use of
easily remembered words and phrases to identify Internet addresses.
For example,
the Web Address siteforless.com represents Site for Less Web sites. When
you type siteforless.com into a Web browser or send e-mail to someone
at siteforless.com, the Domain Name System (DNS) translates siteforless.com
into the IP numbers used by the Internet and connects you to Site for
Less.
Do
I have to buy a new Web address or can I use one that I already have?
You can do
both. You can either use the one that you already have and just transfer
the IP address existing to our server (Just ask your current Hosting company
for it), or create a new one with us. In this case, you only have to submit
your new Domain name to our ONLINE EDITOR and we will register it for
you.
What
is Web hosting?
In order
to establish your online identity with a Web site, you'll need the name
and number of at least two computers (known as hosts or name servers),
so your customers can find you on the Internet. You may have these special
computers in your organization, or you may need to arrange for name service
with an Internet Service Provider or Web hosting company.
Because we
know that you want to focus on running your business, Site for Less Web
site hosting is arranged by us and is free of charge.
Can
I keep my current Hosting company and only use your templates?
No. Our hosting
is free of charge to make it the best offer ever. For development purposes
the Web site and the ONLINE EDITOR need to be on the same server.
How
much will my hosting provider charge me to transfer my Web address (domain
name) to use with my new Web site?
Most hosting
providers do not charge to transfer a Web address. Please note that Site
for Less does not charge for this transfer at all; any transfer charges
that you may incur would come directly from your current hosting provider.
How
do I know that I'll have a good hosting provider for my Web site?
To simplify
the process of getting your Web site up and running, we automatically
arrange your Web site hosting for you. We partner with leading, reliable
hosting providers.
What
do I need in order to use the ONLINE EDITOR?
All you need
is a Web browser such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
There's no coding or programming necessary. However, the ONLINE EDITOR
is flexible enough to let a person with a little HTML coding knowledge
do great enhancements.
How
do I transfer my current domain name to your server?
To point
your domain name to our servers, the DNS needs to be changed. We can make
the change ourselves if you can supply us with the account name or number
and the password you received when you registered your domain. If you
prefer to make the changes yourself, here is the information you will
need:
Note that
many registrars only require the server name, and not the IP address.

These changes
are done by going to the web site where you registered your domain name.
You will need your account number and password supplied to you when you
registered. If you are not sure where you registered, you can look that

Will
I be able to see my site before it gets published to the Internet?
Yes, Site
for Less lets you preview your personalized Web site before you publish
it. Each time you change your content you can preview your site to make
sure you like what you see. And, you can change your content after you've
published it. Just go to the "LOGIN" area on the homepage and
log into the ONLINE EDITOR.
How
long will it take me to build my site?
It's up to
you. You can quickly create a Web site in minutes, then update it later
when you have time. Some of our customers take a few hours to select and
input their content and graphics. Best of all, this can be done at your
own convenience, and updated at your leisure.
What
if I want to change my site content after it's been published?
Site for
Less' Web sites are designed to be flexible and to grow with your business.
You can always update your text and graphics by logging into the Website
Manager to make your changes.
How
can I be sure my site will be unique?
Each
Web site template gives you the structure for your site, then
you add unique elements according to your needs. You can include
your company name, logo, artwork, photos, personalized text,
and button headers. In addition, our library of designs is
always growing.
We
also have Custom Design and Custom Writing options available
for those that want their web site to really fit their Agency's
look and feel.
